What does PMBOK® -aligned mean?

The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) is PMI®'s standards document that includes generally accepted knowledge and practices of project management. It is approved as an American National Standard (ANS) by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a project management standard.

PMI® basis its Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) certification exams on the various process groups defined in the PMBOK®. The current PMP® and CAPM certification exams are based upon PMI's Fourth-Edition PMBOK. Those exams became effective on July 1 and August 1 respectively, at which time the exams based upon the Third Edition were retired.

SkillSoft offers a full curriculum of courseware that is aligned with the Fourth Edition and can be used by learners to prepare for the PMP® and CAPM exams.
